Apple iPhone Jargon From Maddy’s Dictionary

February 15, 2007 by dennis

Maddy Wrose was a British war orphan who settled in the US in 1946. She earned a PhD in psychology and spent her career with a private research firm in Cambridge MA. Maddy’s Dictionary was her whimsical list of definitions of real and imagined aspects of technology.

The author writing as Maddy’s pal began his career as a computer hardware and software specialist in 1959. He was Dr. Wrose’s friend and technology mentor for the fifty years prior to her death in 1996. One of his retirement projects is the updating and publication of Maddy’s Dictionary. These iPhone terms are among his contributions.
