What prompted Fuze to create Fuze Meeting for iPhone?
We believe (and validated with online surveys) that the future of collaboration is mobile – with an estimated 77 million iPhones projected to be in the market in the next few years. It is a huge platform for us to enable high definition, visual and virtual meetings. Email and text messaging is nice on the iPhone but the real power comes when you leverage tools like Fuze Meeting. Otherwise, the iPhone is too expensive to justify!
What features will you be adding to Fuze Meeting in the future?
On the iPhone app, the next release will allow you to upload a video you recorded on the 3GS and play it live in a real-time collaboration session. Users will also be able to host and manage the entire web meeting experience directly from the device.
Has usage of the Fuze Meeting service increased since releasing the iPhone App?
Yes – almost half of our users have had an iPhone user attend a Web meeting. The Appstore is a great channel for us to reach the mobile, connected professional and has turned into an important lead channel for our sales organization.
Do you think mobile meetings will become more popular in the future?
YES YES YES. We are already seeing more and more videos being shared across Mac, PC, and now the iPhone. As the population goes more mobile with the proliferation of smart phones (including the iPhone) — the expectations of users will continue to increase – starting and joining visual meetings will be as common as sending a text message or replying to an email thread from your phone.
