Case Mate Universal Privacy Screen Pro Review
April 17, 2008 by Robert
Ever worry about that your contacts are being seen over your shoulder? Are your snoopy friends trying to read your private email or text messages? What about your competitors stealing trade secrets that you were reviewing on your iPhone? Well, if you answered yes to any of these questions, the Case Mate Privacy Screen Pro may be for you.
Case Mate has developed a privacy screen that helps you protect your information from the prying eyes of others while in use. It provides a 45 degree angle of viewing both horizontally and vertically to give optimal data protection. The privacy pro does provide a clear view of the touch screen when viewed straight on, but seems to accumulate fingerprints after repeated use. It only covers the main screen, not the home button or speaker slot allowing easy access to those areas.
The privacy screen is quite thick on the face of the phone and has gotten caught when removing my phone from my case. This would be my primary critique of this screen protector. Additionally, for $20.00 I think you should get more than one Privacy Screen Pro. But for those of you paranoid, CIA, FBI, NSA, delusional types, Case Mate’s Privacy Screen Pro will provide adequate protection of all of your personal and confidential data.
The privacy screen provides some flexibility in use as it comes with a grid so that you can cut the privacy screen to size, meaning it was not specifically made for the iPhone. The issued size requires no cutting to only cover the touch screen area of the iPhone and installs easily over the face. Case Mate states that the product is reusable, but I don’t see how you would be able to get the protector to adhere multiple times, besides that any debris would be transferred and may scratch the screen. Purchase for $19.99 from Case-Mate.com.
