Capdase Headphone Adapter for Apple iPhone Review

May 5, 2008 by Melissa

Happy about it or not, if you want to use a standard headset or other device in your iPhone’s headphone port, you’ll need a headphone adapter. The headphone port on the iPhone is recessed and prevents the standard headphone jacks from getting a full connection. The good news is that these adapters are now more easily available and are inexpensive.

As with iPhone cases, there are a variety of adapters available – straight, flexible, and those with varying cord lengths. I have yet to find one that offers shielding to prevent the buzzing. (Is that even possible in an accessory like this?) From those that are available, I’ve found one that’s flexible with a short cord to be the handiest. Capdase offers one that’s both attractive and convenient.

I like the shiny black look of this adapter. I also like that there’s a short cord because it prevents me from having to wrestle with it in addition to other long cords. I’ll rely on the device I plug into the adapter to provide the cord length that’s needed. I also like that it’s flexible. The other adapter I own has only a little flex to it and I’ve found myself struggling with it in close quarters.

Overall, I feel the the Capdase Headphone Adapter for the Apple iPhone is a good value at the suggested retail price of $7.99. Visit Shop Vinko to order this item. If it’s not specifically listed, send a special request and they’ll get it for you!
