Capdase Sport Armband for iPhone Review

Sports enthusiasts often appreciate accessories that allow them to easily cart around their technology during workouts. I would contend that these same accessories are valuable for many - especially when a solution is needed that offers just enough protection, limited interference, and lightweight portability. For this, we often turn to an armband solution.
Capdase offers a solution that meets this basic need. It comfortably fits around your arm - without slippage - and allows you to easily tote your iPhone while on the go. I really liked the extra pouch it has which allows me to store money, a key or any other small item I may need while out and about.
I also like their design approach. The phone sits on top of the band rather than being a part of it. In other words, it’s a flat surface against your arm.
There were a couple of challenges I encountered when using this armband. The one causing the most frustration is the ad hoc reception of my screen taps. The plastic covering didn’t seem to lay flat against the screen. I believe this is what caused it to sporadically respond to my screen taps. It often took 2 - 3 tries for the phone, in the pouch, to respond to my commands.
Secondly, the home and power buttons are almost non-existent on this armband. There is no cutout or other indicator for the power button - an issue I find minor as I’m not usually turning on and off the device during the workout. However, what was frustrating is the lack of response I observed with the home button. In over 50% of the trials, the home button did not respond when I hit the area designated for it.
This aside, Capdase’s Armband for the iPhone meets most basic armband needs attractively. And, compared to other armbands, does so at a very reasonable price.
