Formula Racing is a tilt sensitive racing game for the iPhone.

You start with one track unlocked and you must finish each track before unlocking the next one (you don’t have to come first, just finish the race). You control you red F1 style car by tilting the iPhone in the direction you want to go. This takes some getting used to, but once you do, the game is relatively easy to pick up and play. The tilt sensitivity can be adjusted in the settings, to suit your gameplay style. There are ten tracks in Formula Racing, which increase in difficulty as you go on.

There are a couple of things I personally think are missing from this game. I would like to be able to change the amount of laps I have to do on each track (three is the only option) as well as changing the difficulty of the opponents. Once you have got the hang of the game, you can win the first few levels without even trying, so a difficulty setting would be good. I would also like to be able to change the colour of my car, although this isn’t a major issue.
The graphics are not the best available on the iPhone but they are certainly good enough considering the type of game. Overall, this game is great fun and is a great use of the accelerometer, but without a difficulty setting, this games lifespan is reasonably short-lived.

7.4 out of 10
