If you like RPG games and wish there was something to satisfy this need on your iPhone, Dungeon Slayer is where you should be looking.

Dungeon Slayer is, according to the iTunes description, an ‘action/adventure RPG’. You play a character in the town of Krendel. You must defend the town as a favour to a wizard. You must learn new skills, collect items and, first and foremost, become the Dungeon Slayer. When you start a new game you have a choice between six different characters with different skills, although you will still get the same value out of the game whichever one you decide on. Controlling you character can be done in one of two ways. You can either tap the screen to where you want to go, or you can ‘drag’ your character to control them. An option to use the accelerometer for control would be good, as your fingers can get in the way at times.

When you come across enemies, tapping them will fire your weapon so you can defeat them. There are twelve skills to learn for each character and these are learnt by talking to the aforementioned wizard. Also through the wizard, you are given different tasks to do such as clear the cellar from bats. The menus are a little too small for easy navigation but you will get used to them. The graphics have a nice retro feel, but it does need some polishing as some areas of the game seem a little rushed. You will get hours of gameplay out of Dungeon Slayer, the experience as a whole though is very good and if you’re into RPG’s then this is a must-have.
