Incipio makes all sorts of different kinds of cases for computers, MP3 players, and iPods/iPhones. The one I’ll look at here is the Silicrylic. Now apart from the cool name, what does this case have to offer? It’s not a cookie-cutter silicon case that’s for sure. It is different than any case I’ve seen and it definitely works well.

The Silicrylic is a 2 piece case. First off is the inner shell, which is made of silicon. This alone would make for a pretty good case in itself. It covers the entire back and sides and wraps up over the top, leaving only the screen exposed. Not to worry though, Incipio provides a screen protector and cleaning cloth with the case. You can still push the volume and sleep buttons through the case and it’s really easy to do so. There are also holes cut out for the camera, headphone jack and vibrate switch. The dock connector is also exposed on the bottom.
The second piece of this case is a rigid plastic shell. The back of the silicon part has indentations where this plastic clips on over top of it. Once on and positioned correctly, the case feels like one piece and the plastic part is nice and flush on the back. This gives the case lots of rigidity as it feels like a hard case, while still having soft edges which are nice to the touch.

The only complaint I have about this case is it’s a bit tricky getting it on and off. It gets a little easier when you find a technique that works well but for the first time, it can take a bit to get the plastic back piece positioned correctly. As someone who likes to dock my phone often throughout the day, this is a bit annoying.

While using this case, I found it slipped in and out of my pocket really nicely, which is pretty important to me. I would definitely trust the case to protect the phone from a small fall, which is comforting. Overall, it is very sleek and well put together. The price is right at $25 too! The Silicrylic is up there with some of my favourites!
