Klipsch is a very well-known in the sound industry. They make many high end product, including earphones, speakers, and iPod/iPhone docking stations. The latter is what I’ll be taking a look at today. The iGroove SXT is one of their newer models and as such it is a WWI (works with iPhone) dock, which is nice for all of us iPhone users out there.

A lot of docks look similar and even can sound similar. This being said, it is nice when companies do something a little different than the norm to make their product unique. In the case of the iGroove SXT, Klipsch has put in a little subwoofer. It is ported at either end of the dock and you can definitely feel the air pushing out when music is playing. This gives that extra bit of bass thump that is missing from many smaller docks. It really doesn’t even make it that much bigger. Overall, it is small enough to throw on a shelf .
The outside of the dock is very simple. There are only three buttons. Two for volume and one for power. The power button has an LED in it as well that glows red when the unit is off and turns blue when a music player is detected in the dock. Klipsch also includes a bunch of different dock adapters so whichever iPod or iPhone you have is bound to fit nicely.

This dock is very sleek it its design. The front is all black and there is a strip of silver on the top and bottom. I’ve had a few different compliments on how it looks. In terms of sound, it also does better than average. I would expect nothing less from Klipsch and they definitely come through in this department. The sound is rich and definitely can fill up a room. Hard to imagine from such a small little dock. The inclusion of the subwoofer does wonders for songs with more bass. It does start to distort however when you put it up to really high volumes.

The iGroove comes with a small remote. On the rear there is an AUX in port as well as an S-Video out. This is awesome if you have a video iPod or iPhone. The dock even asks you if you want to display to the TV when you put your iPhone in it!

Overall, I’m very impressed with this dock. With the subwoofer and the video out, it really has some cool extras. The price is right too at $150. If you’re looking for a small dock with big sound, the iGroove SXT might be right up your alley.
