Dexim offers quite a few different power options for you mobile devices. Their line of BluePack chargers offers a portable charging solution for your iPhone. Today I’ll be looking at the BluePack S8, which is their biggest capacity mobile battery pack. It is also one of their most versatile batteries, providing the cabling to charge with an iPod connector, mini USB and micro USB. This means basically any mobile phone and tons of other devices can be charged with the S8.

The S8 is a really compact little battery. It is actually fairly comparable to the size of the iPhone, smaller actually. It weighs about the same. It shows how a simple design can still be great. It has rounded edges which makes it look sleek. On the front side is the DC input which allows for charging with the included AC adaptor or from a USB port as well. There is a USB port which goes out to the device that you want to charge. There is also a charge indicator on the side, consisting of a button and 3 LED’s. One other cool built in feature is the light on the front, which is activated by holding the charge indicator button. It’s brighter than you think it might be too!

The cables for this device are pretty unique. There are three output cables included to charge different devices as I stated above. These are short, only a few inches in length. One end is USB and it plugs directly into the S8. Even though there are three cables, you can only charge one device at a time as there is only one USB port.

The cable to charge the S8 also has a unique feature. On one side is the DC connector, while the other side has not one, but two USB attachments, meaning you can plug into two USB ports to charge faster! Pretty neat. The AC adapter also has two USB ports on it for this cable to plug into.

The S8 comes with a carrying case, which soft and has two compartments inside, easily storing the S8, AC adapter and cables. This is handy as it could be easy to misplace any one of these things. Alternatively, you could just take the S8 and short iPod cable with you and leave everything else at home to charge in the evenings.

The BluePack S8 is a great option for backup power when you need it! It is 3000mAh, which means you can charge your iPhone from dead twice! It is compact and even includes a light. At $80 is it just as cheap, if not cheaper than its competition. If you’re looking for a versatile backup battery, with plenty of power, the BluePack S8 is just that, in a small, sleek package.
