If you have a new iPhone 3GS or are just paranoid about getting scratches on your older, precious iphone 3G, you may want to check out the Mophie Hard Case Plus. This is a thin, clear snap-together plastic case that not only protects the back of your iPhone, but also the front. The glass iPhone screen (as well as the back and sides) is completely covered with clear plastic. So, even though you touch only plastic, all you see is the iPhone.
It can be a bit tricky to snap the two halves together completely, so you will have to be patient at it. When you are sure both pieces are connected, just use the iPhone as you always have. You can tap the screen or slide your finger over the screen the same as always and there is little to no noticeable drag or delay. I expected there to be a loss of tactile responsewith the case on, but it wasn’t so.
The home button, ports and side buttons are left exposed, so eventually, dust and dirt will work their way under the plastic protection. So occasionally, you need to open up the case and wipe it down. Just use a small coin twisted in a slot at the top of the case to pop it open. Simple.
As far as drop protection goes, I’m not convinced that plastic offers shock protection, but even so, its better to have this case get scratched instead of the iPhone.
If you love the look of your iPhone, but still wish you could protect your investment from life’s little mishaps, you will love the Mophie Hard Case Plus. It’s simple, inexpensive for the protection it offers, almost invisible and doesn’t hinder the use of the iPhone.
