German company Xnet Communications released iSoftPhone, a Voice Over IP software solution for Apple Mac OS X. The program sports an Apple iPhone-like interface, and promises crystal clear phone calls, ability to send messages to cell phones, simple VoIP configuration, and an integrated address book.
Original product description: “iSoftPhone is an internet phone that uses VoIP to provide users with very cheap telephone calls in a beautiful interface.
VoIP is an international standard protocol for voice communications, offering full compatibility.
iSoftPhone uniquely provides users with simple configuration to add VoIP providers.
Users have the flexibility of choice and may use as many VoIP accounts as they need using the cheapest provider for each type of call. For example using one provider for cheap local calls or another provider for cheap international calls.
All accounts are active concurrently and the user may toggle between them using the up/down arrow keys.”
