Apple, Electronic Arts in Talks About iPhone Games
February 9, 2007 by dennis
Apple Inc. plans a major incursion into the gaming world: currently the company is holding talks with several game publishers, including the giant Electronic Arts and less known Popcap Games in order to bring their products to the Apple iPhone, reports Business Week.
For now the plan is to bring some well-known “classic” EA produced games to the iPhone, mostly aimed at the casual gamers. iPod owners already enjoy a variety of games on this platform, including Tetris and Pac-Man — in total there’s at least five EA published games that are available for the iPods. Mitch Lasky, chairman of EA’s mobile games division believes that the company has the technical know-how and experience necessary to port these games to the iPhone.
Furthermore, the companies are currently discussing the possibility of bringing some of EA’s games to the AppleTV. We will keep you updated on this topic.
