iPhone, Apple TV Get Free Software Updates

Apple announced this Wednesday, in it’s quarterly conference call, that it will serve free updates to both Apple TV and the iPhone (when the latter is released).
Continuing to give free updates was one of the core reasons why the company apparently announced ‘accounting changes’ for revenue from the products.
A well possible reason for this decision, is that they previously charged a $1.99 fee to enable the unannounced 802.11n feature in already shipped Macs. Apple CFO Peter Oppenheimer says that Apple plans to release “new software features and entirely new applications“.
“We hope the result will be to surprise and delight our iPhone customers,” he continued. He didn’t release any other details, of course, though.
