ESPN on Apple iPhone
August 11, 2007 by dennis
The popular ESPN sports network will soon be on Apple iPhone!
Well, not the actual live broadcast, but now Apple iPhone owners will be able to select from 35 ESPN podcasts available for free and streamable via the iPhone Safari browser.
ESPN VP Marc Horine said “iPhone allows us because the Safari internet browser takes you to the special player. Most [phones] don’t have the functionality the iPhone has… We’re constantly trying to innovate building applications to better serve sports fans, and the iPhone player was developed to make it better to consume content..”

ESPN Podcenter for Apple iPhone owners will be available on Monday August 13th at ESPN’s iPhone-optimized site .
