Audi offers iPhone integration

August 14, 2007 by dennis

Even though rumor had it a while back that BMW will be the first car maker to offer full Apple iPhone integration, another famous German car manufacturer got to do it first.

Audi is the first car manufacturer in the world to offer optional iPhone integration for its A5, A6, A8, and Q7 models. iPhone/Audi integration allows to accept or reject a call, see display signal strength and audio track information (navigation through songs by artist, track title, playlists, and genre), and more.

I own an Audi TT 2008. It comes with the Ipod/Iphone preparation. Using the bluetooth, I can accept reject or make phone calls but I´m not sure if I can also manage the playlists from my Iphone using the preparation. When I connect the iphone to the car´s preparation, a message appears saying that the plain mode will be necessary.

I'm ready for deeper integration. I know BMW recently announced IOS integration, I'm hoping Audi is soon to follow.
