Unlocked iPhones go in Hong Kong for $2000

August 16, 2007 by dennis

We all knew that it will happen and it did. Unlocked Apple iPhones are being sold in Hong Kong for $2000, while the unlock procedure alone costs $750.

The iPhones are reported to be completely unlocked, although it’s not specified whether it’s a real hardware unlock (which would be unprecedented), or whether the older SuperSIM or recently discovered TurboSIM unlock methods are being used.

At any rate, the unlocked iPhones can access local services and even display the local cell phone operator’s logo. And mind you, they’re being sold through “legit” stores, not on the street. See below for an actual video of the unlocked device.
