iTunes v7.4 breaks iPhone hacks?
September 7, 2007 by dennis
Here’s a word of warning to unlocked and jailbreaked Apple iPhone owners — you might want to hold on before updating to iTunes v7.4. First, all the new features are not really active yet, and even more importantly, it seems like the new iTunes v7.4 breaks normal operations of popular Apple iPhone hacks.
Our own Brian reported difficulties using iFuntastic v3.0 after upgrading his iTunes to v7.4 — and reports from online forums suggest that the same thing happened to other popular iPhone mod/hack programs that used the iTunes API.

Since there’s no easy way to downgrade iTunes apart of removing it completely and reinstalling fresh, it might be a good idea to fight off the temptation of getting iTunes v7.4 — at least until the underground iPhone programmers catch up to the changes made in this update.
