Reports indicate that France Telecom won a bid for marketing the iPhone in France. After Germany, Spain and the United Kingdom, France is the next country due to amaze its citizens with America’s “God machine” in Europe.
The French company will market the handset through its wireless unit Orange. The iPhone will go on sale in France as well as in Germany and the UK this November .

Meanwhile, talks are being held with the main mobile operators in the Nordic region. Apple’s plans to launch iPhone in that region are likely to be realized either by TeliaSonera or Telenor. Both of these companies are present in Eurasia, Asia, Baltic region of Europe and South of Europe.
Spokesmen from both companies told Dow Jones Newswires they were “very interested in the iPhone,” but said they couldn’t say more due to ongoing discussions.
“We have seen immense interest in the iPhone from our customers,” said Anders Krokan, Telenor spokesman. “We are still in talks, but I doubt we would be able to offer the iPhone this year.”
