Apple sued for $1 million USD for slashing iPhone price

A Queens, New York resident, Dongmei Li, suggested in her lawsuit that Apple violated price discrimination laws when the price of 8GB Apple iPhone was slashed by $200 last month, with the 4GB model being discontinued.
Apple’s decision to lower the price of the iPhone was met with a mixture of hatred from early iPhone buyers, who felt they are being “ripped off” because they overpaid for the device, and increased iPhone sales in Apple and AT&T stores.
And although Apple offered a $100 rebate and apologized to early iPhone buyers, Mrs Li was not convinced and filed a lawsuit on September 24 in the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of New York.

Her lawsuit targets both AT&T and Apple, claiming that the 4GB iPhone she bought for $499 lost in resale value and that owners of 8GB iPhones were given more favorable terms (although they also overpaid if they bought it before the price drop), demanding $1,000,000 in damages.
Apple representatives declined to comment on this matter, citing company policies pertaining to ongoing legal disputes.
