Firmware 1.1.2 Jailbroken, Software Released
November 11, 2007 by Patrick
And so it’s done. Much like the last firmware, it was jailbroken within a week or so, though this one much shorter. Released by Conceited Software, this software allows you to go back to your third-party app-like needs.
Anyway, to get started on this process, you need a v1.1.1 iPhone or iPod Touch, or a downgrade from your previously upgraded or purchased v1.1.2 device. We just covered this here.

Afterwards you need to set up and run OktoPrep, then update to v1.1.2. The program runs on either OS X or Windows, and takes the data off of your device (the iPhone or iPod Touch), then turns it into jailbreak. Then it installs ‘Installer.app’ and ‘SSH.app’, and after it reloads, you’re done. The entire process is expected to take around 10 minutes.
According to TUAW, this doesn’t apply to iPhones that were unlocked via hacks, but it does apply to iTunes activated devices. The readme that comes with the crack is available here, detailing further how to downgrade, as well as jailbreak.
We cannot provide any liability for any damages you may incur in following these directions, or proof that it actually does work, so use this with caution, as always.
