iPhone Firmware v1.1.2 Available on iTunes

November 13, 2007 by Patrick

For those still in the dark, this new iPhone firmware update was just released today on iTunes for download. Previously available on the UK and Germany’s new stock of devices, you can freely download it directly.

The firmware fixes mostly little things, but notably, the TIFF exploit which was widely covered and exploited. iTunes also now displays your iPhone’s battery level next to your phone’s icon, as well as separates custom from standard in your ringtones listing.

For those outside the english language, you can select French, German or Italian as the default language, and same with the keyboard layout, noticed by Dave Caolo over at TUAW.com. (though the changes were unspecified in the change-log I believe)

Be also aware that this new firmware has been jailbroken already, and we’ve provided a small guide into the seemingly small job of hacking it.

Thanks: TUAW
