iPhone AnySIM to be open sourced?

The iPhone Dev Team is considering releasing AnySIM to the open source community. AnySIM of course is the software that enables you to freely unlock the iPhone. One of the team members said that it might open a lot of possibilities in the future, such as releasing speedier updates, and avoiding dangerous binary patches.
This move was provoked by Apple’s changes it makes to iPhone’s firmware at fast speed, bricking iPhones and disabling previously available iPhone unlockers, iPhone activators, iPhone jailbreakers, and other similar programs. However for the project to move in that direction they first want to know if community supports this idea.

With open source, anyone can submit a quality code, and as a whole making software better.
