iPhone as a digital picture frame?

Here’s a tip: your iPhone can be used even during the charging process. As Piet Jonas suggests in his blog it can be the perfect digital photo frame offering more options than a standard one available in the shops.
Here is how you can make your iPhone work in this mode: go to Settings, then General and change the Auto-Lock setting to Never. That should keep your iPhone awake even during the time it’s recharging its batteries.

After that you just need to open your photos application and start a slide show. Your iPhone is prepared now to serve you as a digital photo frame. Moreover it can also download pictures from any source in the Internet, such as Google’s Picasa for iPhone, making it more attractive than a standard digital photo frame.
You can also: display the latest news by running an RSS reader, be informed about new e-mails coming in, see world clocks from WorldClockr or world web cameras from WorldWatchr, among other things.
The writers of TUAW are also suggesting to use the screen of always-on-iPhone to get updated on stock infos.
We are meanwhile thinking that video output is also a good idea, as then you can get all this information on a big screen.
There are numerous possibilities of using the iPhone while it is on the cradle and of course we hope that creative iPhone fans will add a couple more…
