16GB Apple iPhone out in USA, UK, Germany

Breaking news: Apple today officially launched new 16GB iPhone and 32GB iPod touch models. The new devices are available immediately and retail for the price of $499 each in the USA.
“For some users, there’s never enough memory,” said Greg Joswiak, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide iPod and iPhone Product Marketing. “Now people can enjoy even more of their music, photos and videos on the most revolutionary mobile phone and best Wi-Fi mobile device in the world.”
All iPhone and iPod touch models include the latest v1.1.3 firmware software enhancements announced last month including the ability to automatically find your location using the new Maps application; create Web Clips for your favorite websites; customize your home screen and watch movies from the new iTunes Movie Rentals.
In USA new 16GB iPhone can be purchased in Apple’s online store, retail stores, and AT&T stores.
UPDATE:
- O2 UK, Carphone Warehouse and Apple are offering the 16GB iPhone at £329 = $650 USD, although at the moment the product is still not listed in Apple’s UK online store.
- T-Mobile Germany is also offering the 16GB iPhone immediately at the price of 499 Euros = $730 USD, and shares the trophy for having the highest priced version with Orange (see below).
- In France, the 16GB iPhone will also be sold for 499 Euros = $730 USD, when it will go on sale there. Unlike the 32GB iPod Touch which is already available in Apple’s stores across France, the 16GB iPhone is said to be available “soon”.
