Canadian iPhone trademark status update!

iPhone World reader Roberto sends news that the Canadian Trademarks database was just updated with new information relating to the iPhone trademark in Canada.

As it’s known, currently Apple and Canadian VoIP provider Comwave are battling it out over the iPhone trademark in Canada (most likely, Comwave, a small-medium scale company operating from Toronto is seeking a settlement — although we’re only speculating here).

Canadian iPhone trademark registration page was updated on March 25 2008, and it claims that the preliminary report will be complete at the end of June 2008. Whether Canadians will need to wait until July to get the iPhone, only Apple and some Canadian officials probably knows for sure, but for now the trademark is not registered to either Apple nor Comwave.
