It seems that not only simple folk like us have a fascination with iPhones. Ramzan Kadyrov, president of the Russian republic of Chechnya seems to be fascinated by this device as well.
During conference in the southern city of Krasnodar this year, Kadyrov sat with Dmitry Medvedev, a future president of Russia and other officials, where everyone expressed great interest for the device.
However, not only officials like iPhone. It is reported that there are over 500,000 iPhone users in Russia. Interestingly iPhone is not yet even released there.

“Russian people love anything that is forbidden,” said Murtazin, adding that iPhone sales in Russia are the third highest in the world, after the United States and China.
The iPhones are purchased in the United States or England, and brought into country where they are sold for much more compared to their initial price. They are priced at $700. Nevertheless, once the iPhone was launched in the USA iPhone cost was staggering $1800.
Not a cheap accessory. After all iPhone regarded in Russia as prestigious item. “Having an iPhone is like being part of a club,” says one man.
