Hannes Schwaderer, managing director of Intel Germany, told about the future of iPhone. He said that the new iPhone will be slightly bigger than the current one, with the screen resolution of 720 x 480.

He also said that it will be based on Intel Atom CPU. The CPU is only 24mm in size, yet it has 47 million transistors, with lock speeds from800 MHz to 1.8 GHz.

All this talk is either about the future generation of iPhone (3rd version, not iPhone 3G) or possible Internet Tablet by Apple. Interestingly Intel Germany denied that he made any comments about iPhone. And Apple being their usual self gave no comment at all.

Intel Apple

Like always we will have to stay put and wait this one out, even if it’s a year or so down the road. One wonders though what for Apple bought PA Semi.
