Future iPhone will have GPS, WiMax support?
May 23, 2008 by David
Apple is really short on employees these days. First they announce job posting for camera engineer. And now there are two more job openings: Senior RF System Engineer and Product Design Engineer for the iPhone.
The Sr. Wireless system Engineer will be responsible for designing/integrating Apple wireless products, and exploring new wireless technologies. He/she will work in a technology group on next generation wireless communications products as well as the integration of wireless technology within Apple products. He/she will work proactively with other cross-functional engineering groups such as industrial design, product design, EMC, antenna design, software design and test, and all of the computer system project teams.
Product Design Engineer reads:
As a member of a cross-functional design team at Apple, you will help to create the next generation of the world's finest handheld devices. You will conceive, design, and bring into production products that will re-define the music experience. You will work closely with many different cross functional teams including Industrial Design, Packaging, Safety, Hardware Engineering, EMC, and Marketing.
It seems that Apple is thinking very seriously in exploring phone capabilities even further: WiMAX, UWB, Mobile TV, possible antenna for iPhone? It surely will be interesting to see what Apple will come up with next.
