Geo-Tagging in the new firmware. Possible GPS chip in 3G iPhone
May 23, 2008 by David
The latest version of iPhone 2.0 firmware released to selected Enterprise partners adds support for Geo-tagging. As you can see in the screenshots bellow, it adds the ability to transmit your geographical location on both maps and where the picture was taken.
While it is not confirmed, there might be a possibility of GPS chip embedded in the new iPhone. This of course corresponds to the fact that you need precise coordinates (longittude, lattitude), for geo-tagging to be precise. Current GPS like locator would not be as precise.
