Dangers of hacking the iPhone

June 3, 2008 by David

An interesting thing happened in one of the Apple stores. Four teens entered a store, and started playing with the iPhone. But not just with regular things iPhone has. These guys were smart enough that jailbreaking is the way to go. So they jailbroke the phone while still inside the store, and installed Raging Thunder game.

When manager approached the guys asking if they needed help, they truthfully replied that they were “playing around with the iPhone.”

After they left the store manager caught them up, and asked them back inside. He then told them about the dangers of hacking the iPhone. He then took their photos and told that he will send them to other stores, where they are not welcome, according to one of the guys.

However Apple spokesman denied that, saying that “They were not banned from that store or any other store.” Interestingly one young person was working in Apple store for the summer.

So be cautious of hacking iPhone in the store next time.

the title is a bit misleading. Makes it sound as if you cult damage iPhone by jailbreaking.

well, you are ‘damaging’ the iPhone in a way, since as you know Apple warranty does not cover jailbroken iPhones.
