A-GPS in 3G iPhone

While it’s been rumoured that the 3G iPhone will feature an in-built GPS chip (possibly from Broadcom), so far there was no confirmation to that or to the contrary. Until now…
Steve Jobs officially announced at WWDC 2008 that the 3G iPhone will have an in-built GPS module in it.

According to him, “we get location from cell towers, from WiFi, and now we get it from GPS,” which means that it’s most likely using Assisted GPS technology. Furthermore, “we can actually do tracking,” he said.
