Rogers is experiencing iPhone activation problems

It appears that Rogers‘ activation system was unable to withstand the load of handling all the new Canadian iPhone customers’ registrations. Starting from 11am EST (coincidentally, iPhone’s launch time in Vancouver) the registration system started experiencing severe problems, which were confirmed in different cities, resulting in very slow order processing times.

Some folks are standing for hours in lines for the iPhone, some leaving since they’re unable to get it on time, as seen in Rogers’ Montreal flagship store. Fido does not appear to be experiencing similar problems, as the queue is moving well there.
