The first Russian iPhone distributor announced.

On Thursday Vimpelcom-the second largest operator in Russia announced: “Vimpelcom announced today it has signed an agreement with Apple to bring iPhone 3G to Russia, expected later this year,”. Vimpelcom’s distribution deal makes the company the thirst one to officially distribute the iPhone in Russia. According to Russian media MobileTeleSystems (the biggest operator) and MegaFon are also planning to start selling iPhones in Russia by the end of the year.

So what would be the estimate sales figures? An analyst from Mobile Research Group Eldar Murtazin said “Total sales by the Big Three carriers will amount to 3.5 million iPhones within the next two years,”. With 600000 iPhones already being in use and with the new official price of 24000 rubles ($399) some analyst like Ivan Shuvalov (Alfa Bank) claim that if it will appear to be to high distributors are not going to reach the estimated target.
