iPhone hacker finds iPhone (3G / original) vulnerability that can crash iPhone v2.1 firmware
September 12, 2008 by James
The creator of ZiPhone iPhone jailbreaking and unlocking tool, a hacker known by the alias of “Zibri“, writes on his site that he has discovered a serious iPhone vulnerability that affects all firmware builds and iPhone models, including the iPhone 3G and the recently released iPhone firmware v2.1.
According to him “Since this bug is VERY serious I have yet to decide what to do with it. If Apple is interested I think they know my email address. If they are not… well they will know sooner or later.”

iPhoneWorld.ca earlier reported on various iPhone exploits, mostly involving the use of iPhone’s Safari browser, including remote execution exploits. It remains to be seen what Zibri’s newly discovered exploit implies to see its exact destructive potential.
