Callwave WebMessenger Mobile unified communications solution for iPhone

September 16, 2008 by James

American company Callwave announced WebMessenger Mobile, a program that it claims is the first true enterprise unified communications solution for the iPhone.

New version of WebMessenger Mobile extends Microsoft’s unified communications platform, Office Communications Server (OCS), to iPhone-carrying mobile workers.

Microsoft OCS manages all real-time (synchronous) communications including instant messaging, VoIP, audio and video conferencing. Microsoft OCS also powers presence, a key benefit of Microsoft unified communications that unites all the contact information stored in Active Directory with the ways people communicate.

WebMessenger Mobile extends similar functionality to the iPhone, enabling business professionals to achieve the same collaboration and productivity benefits in the field that they experience in the office.

CallWave’s WebMessenger federates IM, IP telephony and presence technology across leading platforms, allowing mobile professionals to collaborate seamlessly on any service in a secure environment.

The software supports Mobilize Microsoft OCS, IBM Lotus Sametime, and Jabber. It is compatible with all major IM services, such as MSN, AIM, Yahoo!, Google Talk, ICQ and Jabber. In addition to supporting the iPhone, CallWave is the only provider extending Microsoft OCS out to BlackBerry and Nokia smartphones.

WebMessenger Mobile for the Apple iPhone can be downloaded from Apple’s AppStore.
