Download Cydia for iPhone firmware v2.x

We’ve got a local mirror of Cydia for iPhone downloads manager download. Cydia for iPhone is meant for downloading unauthorized third party programs and games, and is an alternative to iPhone Installer.app.

This version of Cydia is compatible with iPhone firmware v2.0 to v2.1. Your iPhone or iPod Touch device must be jailbreaked before you can use Cydia. Then you can upload Cydia using WinSCP or iPhone file browser or something similar.

P.S. make sure to extract the archive file before uploading it to your iPhone.

IMPORTANT NOTE: the Cydia download you see above is n archived version for iOS 2.x. If you need Cydia for iOS 4.x or 3.x, use either redsn0w, limera1n, greenpois0n or blackra1n (depending on your iOS version) to jailbreak your device and to install Cydia (either of these programs can do it).

    I have a 3G iphone that has not cydia insstalled on it. my iphone is factory unlocked version so it cant be jailbreaked before i can use Cydia. how ican install and use cydia for downloading apps.

    Hi mate,

    I believe that it CAN be jailbreaked no problem….

    Ya see
    “jailbreaking”
    and
    “unlocking”
    are two completely different procedures .

    Jailbreaking only opens your iPhone to use third party apps — this procedure can be undone at any time by reinstalling the original firmware version.
    Unlocking though, modifies your baseband, and hence it’s not suggested for factory-unlocked iPhones.

    But if you’ll use QuickPwn (can be found at http://www.iphoneworld.ca/downloads/), the program actually gives you an option of whether you want to jailreak OR unlock your iPhone. And it also installs Cydia.

    So just grab it, and only “jailbreak” your iPhone, that should work 100%. And while you’re in the program it will allow you to install Cydia and Installer.app.

    Sadly without jailbreaking there’s no way Cydia will run on your iPhone :(

    you need to have it jailbreaked. you can use spirit its a program that jailbreaks iphones but i'm not sure it'll work for a 2.2.1

    Works 100% fine here. You just need to wait a bit for the download to start – could take up to a minute depending on how busy our servers are.
