Radiolicious: another iPhone internet radio app

October 20, 2008 by James

Due to the fact that the iPhone is missing a traditional AM/FM radio receiver it’s no wonder that there’s lots of internet radio programs being released for this device.

Radiolicious is the latest internet radio program for the iPhone that was released today through the AppStore. As is the case with most other iPhone internet radio apps it’s completely free to download and use.

Developed by MySimBook.com, Radiolicious targets both end users and internet radio station operators.

Listeners can choose from a variety of real AM/FM and digital internet radio stations (over 6,000 are currently featured), categorized by genre. Some interactive features that are included is the ability to communicate with the DJs, request songs, comment on them, and share them with friends. Radiolicious works with both mobile internet and WiFi connections.

In the meantime, established radio station operators and newbie radio webcasters alike are able to use Radiolicious as a platform to stream their station and even include their own ads in their streams. All hardware and software will be provided for a monthly service fee. Radiolicious also features links to purchase songs that are being played in iTunes, and they promise to share this revenue with station operators.

Endusers can grab this app for free from the AppStore (firmware v2.1 is required), while radio station operators should check out mysimbook.com for more details.

Social Radio- the ability to discover, listen, and share your favorite stations, send song requests, leave comments, and find other fans on your iPhone! This application is the first of its kind and keeps local radio stations relevant. I highly encourage everyone to install this app and check out what it is all about!
