It’s been a while since we last wrote about “iPhone killers“, but today is such a day.
American carrier T-Mobile is due to launch the highly anticipated T-Mobile G1 handset in the USA today, the first mobile phone based on Google’s Android operating system to be released.
T-Mobile G1 has a touchscreen display and a QWERTY keyboard, and like the iPhone it will feature an applications store and Google Maps support. It will also feature a very functional web browser, based on Google’s recently released Chrome browser, and of course it features support for 3G mobile internet standard.

T-Mobile G1 will be available in T-Mobile retail stores across USA at 8am today, October 22, 2008, retailing for USD $179.
And for a limited time all buyers will be able to get dozens of apps from the Android store for free. For more information check out www.T-MobileG1.com.
P.S. If you’ll be getting the T-Mobile G1 today, please do let us know how it fares comparing to the iPhone.
