Boy proposes to a girl… Via an iPhone.
October 24, 2008 by James
Gone are the good ol’ borin’ days of simply kneeling down in front of your girl and asking her to marry you. Our generation uses hitech means to offer our hearts and souls to our loved ones.
According to Sacramento Bee, Dan Deeble, a 35 year old supervisor for Sutter Health from Antelope, California, has recently proposed to his sweetheart, Crystal Gardner, 28, using his iPhone. And to his credit he didn’t simply SMS, e-mail, or call her, but actually invented a rather original way to do it.
He did it using his iPhone and an app called Scribular that allows users to leave GPS-geotagged messages for everyone to see when you’re at certain locations, using the iPhone 3G’s GPS feature.

After having bought an iPhone for Mrs Gardner and preinstalling Scribular, he left different romantic notes in different locations across the city, having asked friends of his now fiancee to call her or otherwise ask her to check the program at prearranged times.
Finally, the evening ended with a romantic dinner for two in a restaurant, during which time Mrs Gardner’s sister called and asked her to check the program once again. The final note decided Mr Deeble’s fate, as it said “Almost one year ago, I found you — and I found love…. I ask if you will grant me the greatest privilege of my life and marry me. Forever yours, Dan,” to which Mrs Gardner replied “Of course I will.”
P.S. Apparently the idea came after watching the movie P.S. I Love You, hence every message ended with this phrase.
P.P.S. You can download Scribular for free in the AppStore.
P.P.P.S. More on this story on Scribular’s website.
P.P.P.P.S. Just imagine how our kids and grandkids will be proposing?
