Can Google’s T-Mobile G1 sell as many units as the Apple iPhone 3G?
October 27, 2008 by John
Google, HTC and T-Mobile have launched the T-Mobile G1 in USA last week, and while there apparenly were some minor issues with it the launch was quite successful. But can the T-Mobile G1 sell as many units as the iPhone 3G?
HTC’s CEO Peter Chou thinks that yes, they will. According to him, the G1 should yield some rather comparable sales to the iPhone 3G in the same period of time.
According to Mr Chou “HTC products are very pragmatic and productive. We have spent a tremendous effort to make our product better… It may not be as sexy as others. But it’s very nice, very mature and a very good experience.” He went on to say that the G1 will perform “even better” in 2009.
Is that just wishful thinking or a sales pitch?
