Location Based Technologies, manufacturers of the PocketFinder GPS location device that allows you to locate the location of the person that carries it from almost anywhere via the internet, cellular phone, or a fixed-wire telephone, is due to release an iPhone app that will allow you to do the same thing.
With this application, other authorized family members will be able to locate the PocketFinder enabled iPhone. Basically, it is a useful tracking tool that allows you to have a peace of mind when letting your child or loved one go somewhere. In case you cannot reach the person, you just use this service to locate him or her using his or her GPS location.

This app was submitted to the AppStore and is currently awaiting Apple’s approval to appear there. Upon approval, the Apple iPhone-based PocketFinder service will be available for a 15-day free trial and then will be offered for $4.95/month per phone during its first 30 days of availability. It will remain at that price as long as the account is kept current and in good standing. Not a big price for having the peace of mind that you will always know where your loved one is located.
Although we’re thinking this might have another use as well - imagine your iPhone getting stolen… Using the PocketFinder app you could probably either locate it yourself or give the coordinates of the thief to the police.
