iPod Phone (iPhone Nano?) & iPhone 3G Pro coming this year?

There’s been a lot of rumours about Apple releasing new iPhone models this year. And now, a respectable industry analyst is backing them up.
According to Mike Abramsky, an analyst with Royal Bank of Canada Capital Markets, Apple should be releasing an entry level “iPod Phone” in mid-2009. He believes that the device will have voice/SMS, music player and WiFi functionality, but no ability to connect to wireless data networks. An estimated price for that device according to Mr Abramsky could be anywhere from $0 to $99, being available on both low-cost and prepaid carrier plans, thus placing Apple as a viable competitor in the budget phones market segment. Could that be the much rumoured “iPhone Nano”?
Furthermore, Mr Abramsky believes that later on this year Apple will be releasing a next-gen iPhone 3G, the “iPhone 3G Pro”. According to Mr Abramsky, it would work with higher bandwidth HSPA data networks and would feature more powerful hardware than the currently available devices, such as faster CPU and graphics card, as well as more memory and improved battery life, which would allow for better gaming, video output, and multitasking. He also believes that it would feature a better camera.
According to Mr Abramsky, who is a very respectable analyst, the probability of us seeing these devices in 2009 is 80%, reports major Canadian newspaper The National Post.
