BlackBook Mobile Guides 2.0: a travel guide for the iPhone
January 21, 2009 by James
lackBook Media has released version 2.0 of The BlackBook Mobile Guides app for the iPhone – a database of restaurants, nightlife, hotels & shopping in 28 international cities.
The fully-upgraded application now includes substantially increased functionality, such as expanded filtering, keyword search, and interactive maps for instant information and reviews. Furthermore, this update allows users to search for shopping venues in New York, Los Angeles and St. Barts.

In addition to the GPS “near me” functionality, users have the ability to sort their preferences by city, neighborhood, cuisine, price, type (e.g. dive bar or posh sips), vibe and the list of BlackBook’s editor’s features. Users can sort by features for restaurants including “Late Night Bites”, “Celeb Sightings” and “Euro Trash Warning” and for bars & clubs including “Live Music”, “Better After Midnight”, and “Happy Hour Standout.” The new interactive maps enable users to plot their results in relation to where they are, provide instant information and reviews, and provide door-to-door directions.
The list of covered cities includes Chicago, Dallas, Dubai, Las Vegas, London, Los Angeles, Miami, Montreal, Moscow, New York, Paris, San Francisco, Shanghai, Toronto, Vancouver, Washington DC and many more.
BlackBook Mobile Guides 2.0 for the iPhone is now available through the AppStore.
