Taliban loves the Apple iPhone!
February 13, 2009 by James
It seems that Apple’s execs should be sent to Gitmo for supporting the enemies of the free world with advanced technology, while the iPhone seems to have gained gained some rather unorthodox fans….. The Taliban!
You might be thinking that this writer is joking — but, no, sadly, he is not. The Taliban are really using iPhones against us!
AlJazeera, the Arabic-language satellite channel that is deemed to be extremist by some in the Western world and is banned in several countries due to its support of the right-wing Arab cause, has published a large article about Afghanistan’s current situation.
And, well… Apparently, Mullah Zaif, the Taliban’s former ambassador to Pakistan, is an avid user of the iPhone!
According to him: “I’m addicted .. the internet is great on this, very fast.”

And according to iPhoneWorld.ca: “they’ve actually got 3G wireless internet in Afghanistan???”
But, apparently, the Taliban well appreciates the worth of new technology and new, technology-based means, to continue with their insurgency.
Kind of ironic, the fact that they use our, Western technology, to fight us — the West — isn’t it? Maybe we should start looking into getting some suicide bombers of our own to level the playfield…
P.S, One does wonder who exactly unlocks the iPhones for Taliban.
