“iFart” and “Pull My Finger” iPhone apps developers might go to court
February 18, 2009 by James
You probably wouldn’t believe that two software companies are ready to go to court over the phrase “pull my finger”, but that’s exactly what’s happening in the case of developers of the “iFart” iPhone app and the “Pull My Finger” app.
To make long story short, both are iPhone apps that simulate flatulence. iFart, developed by InfoMedia, came first. “Pull My Finger”, developed by Air-o-Matic, came second. Sometime afterwards, InfoMedia started using the phrase “pull my finger” in its advertising. Air-o-Matic now wants $50,000 in damages and threatens to file a lawsuit if it does not receive these funds, while InfoMedia has already asked the federal court in Denver, Colorado to legally allow it to use this phrase.

Really? Grown men and expensive lawyers are really fighting over “pull my finger”? Or is it all an elaborate plan to bring extra media coverage for both these companies? If that’s the case, it’s working, as this story ended up on CNN
