Yahoo announces Yahoo! Mobile iPhone app
February 18, 2009 by James
Search engine Yahoo has released a new version of its Yahoo! Mobile website (http://mobile.yahoo.com) as a “managed beta” — those that are interested in trying it out, should visit the website in order to participate.
The website will be open for owners of most mobile phones at the end of March 2009. And around the same time, Yahoo is planning to launch an iPhone AppStore app version of Yahoo! Mobile, as well as a version for WM powered smartphones (on photo). Once launched, it will be initially available to residents of USA, Canada, UK, France, Germany, India, Indonesia and the Philippines. Versions for other countries will roll out over the remainder of 2009.

The service is described as “a highly-personalized mobile starting point to the Internet,” featuring Yahoo! oneSearch, news stories, Yahoo! oneConnect (including e-mail, IM, calendar, address book, and access to social networks), and Yahoo! onePlace.
