GeoTweeter GPS-enabled Twitter iPhone App launched
February 20, 2009 by James
If you’re a frequent user of Twitter, you must check out the newly released GeoTweeter iPhone app. It allows you to attach your geographical location to tweets that can then be seen on a map by your followers. And best of all, it’s completely free.
GeoTweeter’s developer Donald McMillan wrote: “Very simply, GeoTweeter appends a ’schmap.me’ map link to tweets, showing the user’s current location, with an optional photo, notes and a configurable map icon. Previously saved places can also be retweeted – useful for recommending favorite restaurants etc. and inviting followers to tweetups.”

You can get GeoTweeter iPhone app for free from the AppStore. Mr McMillan added that schmap.me is looking for user feedback to improve the app.
UPDATE: According to this program’s developer, a new v1.01 version of Geotweeter is coming soon, and it will feature the following improvements:
~ Character countdown for Tweet messages
~ Tap photo to view full size image
~ Optional tweeting when new places are added from an existing group
