How many of you out there are TV show junkies? I sure am. Anything from House, to 24, to Lost, I’m in. I get hooked so easily and that means needing to watch every episode weekly. If you’re like me, you get frustrated when your favorite show isn’t on for a given week. I also hate searching the web to find the next episode time and date when there’s a couple week break. Because I have way too many shows to keep track of, it would be nice to know which show is on when. Enter TV Forecast.

I know TV Forecast also comes in the form of a widget on your computer, however, I’ve never had the opportunity to use it, so this is a fresh experience for me. Basically, you add all your favorite TV shows and TV Forecast will display them all in a nice list according to the next episode date. The list is sectioned off into days of the week, starting with the current day.

Most shows have a nice little picture accompanying the name so you can see by quickly scanning, what’s on. The main menu list displays Name of the show, title of the next episode, and the date and time it will air. Tapping on a given show will bring up a short synopsis of the upcoming episode in most cases. Turning the phone into landscape mode will show a real-time countdown to the episode airing.

The shows are refreshed each time the app is opened. If you’re not on wi-fi or 3G or edge though, you’ll get a message saying so, but all the times from the last refresh will still be there. If the show is in progress, a ribbon will appear over it telling you so. TV forecaster also automatically corrects for time zones!
If you’re like me, you have upwards of 15 shows on the go at any given time. If they were all on every week at the same time, this wouldn’t be needed. Now you’ll know immediately if there is a 3 week break from your favorite show or if it’s changed to a new night and/or time. This app allows you to manage them really easily, all in one place. Simple, yet effective, $3 well spent for TV lovers.
