iPhone 3G 8/16GB now $99/149 in the USA — but not in Canada?
June 9, 2009 by dennis
Following the nextgen iPhone 3GS announcement, Apple brought forward the news that the iPhone 3G is currently available at discounted prices in the USA.
Judging by the steps Apple is taking, its goal is to get rid of the remaining iPhone 3G units available and switch onto sales of the iPhone 3GS as soon as possible.

Therefore the iPhone 3G 8GB now costs only $99 in the USA, while the 16GB model retails for $149 (from AT&T, Apple’s online/retail stores, Walmart, Best Buy, and other authorized distributors.
Meanwhile, back here in Canada, Rogers‘ iPhone product page still states that the 8GB model of the iPhone 3G costs $199, or $299 for the 16GB iPhone 3G model, meaning no reduction in price at all for the Canadians.

Does that mean that Rogers’ current stocks of the iPhone 3G are low?
Update #1:
Fido’s iPhone product page seems to state $149 for the 8GB 3G iPhone model now?
Update #2: Rogers PR rep officially announced that the iPhone 3G 8GB will be available on sale for $99 on June 19, 2009 (more here) — but not before that.
